Fiona Hall, Castles in the Air of the Cave-Dwellers (detail, 2008)

Fiona Margaret Hall is an Australia artistic photographer and sculptor. This most alarming work is Castles in the Air of the Cave-Dwellers (2008), whcih implies the relationship between nature and humankind. The brain which is made of resin has been adorned with parasitic forms, somthing like the miniature versions of wasps' nests. Additionally, her works give us a kind of inspiration from the realm of nature and the indication of the harmony between human beings and nature.

Tracey Moffat, something more #9 (1989)

Tracey Moffat is renowned as an Australian artist as well as a photographer. This work is the last one of her series Something More which had been regarded as the fist prominent masterpieces in the Australian art world in 1989. Her works tell readers the stories about Australia and Australian Aboriginals. It is obvious to understand the implication of this photo, which expresss distress and helplessness of Aboriginals during a long period of dark time. However, 'I feel my work is never really about being Aboriginal or Australian but is about the human condition' said Tracey Moffat in an interview.

Week Zero

ARIAL: LANDSCAPE, FLOW, CURVED
(This fantastic picture is taken from our nature world which is full of beautiful landscapes and scenery. Actually, these twisted paths are not artifical projects but the marvellous masterpieces shaped by nature throughout a very long period.)

PYRAMID OF KHUFU: MAUSOLEUM, GUARD, SACRED
(Khufu's Pyramid, also called Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and largest pyramid in the Egypt, and is the only remaining member of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Obviously, this was an amazing architecture in the past hundreads and thousands of years, and even nowadays it is still well-knowned all of the world. With regard to the revolution of architecture, Khufu's Pyramid is in a class by itself.)

GUERNICA: HELL, MOAN, ABSTRACT
(Guernica, as a masterwork by Pablo Picasso, can tell a miserable story, which shows the tragedies of war and the suffering war inflicts upon individuals, and in particular, innocent civilians. This abstract oil painting is easy to understand to some extent, however, Picasso did express his detestation to the war as well as sympathization with the innocent people in that disaster.)
